Weekend, Activity.
Rating: Moderate.
Distance: 2.5-3 hours from DFW
Activity: Kayak camping ( Backpacking on water) River shore camping. This is a very scenic area with several
towns and villages around. Sightseeing, limitted day hiking outside of parks.
This river is usually floatable in any season, however, extended dry seasons may
run low with multiple portage or river blockage. Spring and Fall is preferred.
Hazards: Occasional branch, tree, floating flotsom, standing waves in Big
