Guadalupe River White Water Kayaking and Ani Di Franco Concert Near San Antonio , Tx.(Sunday Night)
Oct 18-20,2002
Sadia and Ole, avid white water kayakers are hosting a weekend of Kayaking and
a visit to Austin Texas for Ani Di Franco Concert.
18-20 Oct 2002, Weekend
Weekend at the Guadalupe River with Ani Di Franco concert on Sunday night. (Campers for other activities are welcome.)
On the weekend 18 to 20 Oct. 2002 we will be doing white-water activities on the upper section of the Guadalupe River.
Unfortunately, the river has been washed out by the recent flood and is no longer the white water that it used to be. Therefore it is a great river for beginner white water paddlers. If you have any interest in this kind of activity or even if you’d just like to hang out and do other stuff in the area, you are welcome to join us for the trip.
We will be camping either at The Guadalupe River State Park, which is located on PR 31, off Hwy. 46 (which has all desired facilities to make you feel almost like home), or at the more primitive campsite downstream from the Hwy. 311 crossing, operated by Bigfoot Canoes. We will decide depending on the wishes of people choosing to attend the trip.
Open sit-on-top kayaks, rafts, tubes and other stuff is available for rent at:
Sunday the 20 Oct. Ani DiFranco is putting on a show at The Backyard near Austin. I have to see it! If you don’t know her at all I can tell you that she is really difficult to describe. In very short terms, she is a Folk singer mixing many styles.
If you want to know more, then check her out on her own record label Ani DiFranco Website: www.righteousbabe.com or ask me for additional information. Some years ago I played in a band where we played only her music. I will be happy to tell you more about her.
Tickets can be bought at most Albertsons grocery stores or at www.startickets.com on the web. More info is available on www.thebackyard.net where you can also find information about the venue. It is properly essential that you make up your mind soon in able to get tickets, she does not visit Texas all that often at all. I will be happy to connect you guys so tickets can be bought in groups so you will not be sitting all alone. A maximum of 8 tickets can be bought per person and I am buying for the first couple of people that request me to do so within the next 24 hours.
